As an Olympian and former high-performance athlete, I bring a firsthand understanding of the demands of pursuing ambitious goals and performing under pressure. I believe that mental performance is about more than learning how to perform better—it’s about developing a relationship with yourself that allows you to perform at your best, adapt, and continue growing while also taking care of your wellbeing.
As a psychotherapist, I work with high performers on the mental side, connecting mind and body to help navigate performance challenges as well as broader mental health and life concerns. This includes stress and burnout, anxiety and perfectionism, confidence and self-doubt, motivation and focus, identity shifts, and life transitions. My goal is to help individuals pursue excellence without sacrificing the person behind the performance. Whether you are competing at the highest level, working toward an important goal, returning from injury, or trying to break through a performance barrier, I help clients develop the awareness, skills, and psychological flexibility to consistently bring their best.
I take an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) informed approach to my work. Rather than trying to eliminate difficult thoughts or emotions, we work on developing the skills to make space for them while staying connected to what matters most and developing the ability to perform even when things get difficult. I integrate ACT with cognitive-behavioural, solution-focused, self-compassion, mindfulness, and sport psychology approaches. I enjoy helping individuals understand the relationship between their thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and physical experiences while developing the mental skills needed to focus, manage pressure, build confidence, respond to mistakes, and perform when it matters most.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (Qualifying) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, providing online therapy to support clients wherever they are. I hold a Master of Counselling Psychology from City University of Seattle and a Bachelor of Science in
Business Administration with dual degrees in Entrepreneurship and Marketing from Kansas State University. I also bring more than 15 years of experience in high-performance sport, beginning at age seven and progressing through international competition, the NCAA, professional sport, and ultimately the Olympic Games. I know firsthand what it takes to pursue excellence at a very high level, as well as the pressure, setbacks, injury, expectations, and identity challenges that can come with it. My experience has shaped my belief that wellbeing and high performance are not competing goals—when approached intentionally, psychological wellbeing can be part of what enables individuals to sustain the demands of high-level performance.
Performance Interests: Fitness and performance are still a big part of my life. Instead of training to be at the highest level of my sport, my focus has shifted toward maximizing my overall health and wellbeing. I play in a basketball league and do HIIT training weekly, and I enjoy staying active through strength training, running, and other forms of movement. I’m interested in how we can continue to challenge ourselves, pursue meaningful goals, and enjoy performance while also listening to our bodies and prioritizing long-term wellbeing. This shift in
my own approach to performance reflects what I value in my work: finding ways to pursue growth and excellence that are sustainable and additive to your life while allowing you to enjoy the process along the way.
