Gonzalo Osorio Ruchichi
With over eight years of clinical experience, I have witnessed the transformative impact of therapy through the relief my clients often experience. My therapeutic style is collaborative, and I draw from humanistic, psychoanalytic, and cognitive behavioural therapy approaches to tailor my therapeutic approach to your needs and goals. I’ll empower you to discover your inner strengths and resources, and will help you to leverage your strengths to overcome challenges and pursue self-development.
Since beginning my journey in psychology in 2013 with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, I opened my own practice and treated a wide range of mental health issues, including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and addictions, with a particular focus on substance use disorders to help individuals and families achieve lasting recovery. I am fluent in Spanish and am sensitive to the experiences of newcomers to Canada, addressing issues like culture shock and immigration-related challenges to ease their transition.
In addition to my clinical work, I have a keen interest in applying psychological principles to enhance leadership, entrepreneurial success, and athletics. I have worked with entrepreneurs, executives and high-performers to overcome the unique pressures and mental health challenges associated with high-stakes environments, to cultivate resilience and optimize performance on the field and in the workplace.
As a registered Psychological Associate (supervised practice) with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, I am now part of the Mental Game Clinic team, working alongside our founder Kim Foster Yardley. Whether you are facing personal or professional challenges, I look forward to helping you discover the tools you need to advance confidently in every aspect of your life.
Performance Interests: My interests are tennis, basketball, and soccer. My dad is a tennis coach so I have been playing it since I was a kid and I competed as a teenager. Today, I play soccer recreationally with my local team.
