Heather Levy
I have endless passion for the therapeutic process. I believe in its ability to help individuals create significant and lasting change in their journey to live a great life. I am fascinated by the brain and its ability to both help and hinder us, and practice from a holistic perspective, acknowledging the power of the biological, psychological, spiritual, and social domains to affect how we think, feel, and act. As a psychotherapist, I use a person-centered approach, with a deep respect for your own expertise on your own experience.
I have prepared myself for this work with education and experience in the field of mental health. I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Work and Social Service Workers, and have received a Masters of Social Work from the University of Windsor in 2020. My wide range of experiences in the field of mental health include crisis work, palliative support, expressive arts therapies, trauma, HIV, and substance use challenges. I can help those who are dealing with anxiety, depression, lack of confidence, anger, grief and bereavement, interpersonal issues, trauma, stress, and mental health disorders.
If you’re just not sure and feel stuck, I can help with that too. With curiosity and compassion, I will help you acknowledge and hone your strengths, identify and define the problems you are facing, and gain the knowledge and skills to work through them.
I am working in consultation with Kim Foster Yardley, the founder of The Mental Game Clinic. I look forward to working with you and getting you to where you want to be.
Performance Interests: I've been active in the performing arts for most of my life. I sing, and play the flute. I went to an Interdisciplinary Performing Arts College and have sung and acted professionally for the stage and screen. I was also an improviser for a few years. Later in life, I trained as a dancer, and still enjoy taking dance classes when I can. I also played soccer for 17 years, and I still love to go running today.
